Travel Season - Sanctuary Spa & Skin Care

February 4, 2023

Summer is the season for tropical travel. Sun and sand are just what the doctor ordered, but where does your skincare fit into all this? Relax, unwind, and get away from it all without letting your skincare routine suffer. Here are some tips on how to pack and care for your skin while you jet set.

Two-in-One

Downsize the amount of stuff that’s going in your suitcase by choosing products that double as two types of protection. Multi-use product examples are items like a tinted moisturizer that has SPF in it or a shampoo/conditioner combo (so long as it’s not a drying one!) SPF should not be forgotten on your travels, so be sure to bring a product, whether it be a moisturizer or foundation, that contains sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.

Sample sizes

Hold on to those samples you get at the spa or from your local beauty shop. Sample sizes are small, handy, and easy to pack, especially if you plan on sticking to just one carry-on suitcase. Many full-sized favorites come in trial sizes too. Check at your nearest retailer location where the product is sold, and often times you’ll find a TSA approved size of your favorite products.

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

From skin care to drinking water, this might be the most important tip of them all. If you’re flying, lather on generous amounts of moisturizer pre-flight. Plane air is filtered and dry so it efficiently dehydrates the skin. Don’t forget to bring hand lotion, eye cream, and lip balm to combat other dryness. During the flight, it is important to drink at least six ounces of water. Hydrating from the inside out is crucial.
