With bikini season upon us, now is the time to tackle this issue.  Regardless of body type, no one is impervious to cellulite. It can be brought on by any number of things including hormonal changes, poor diet and lack of exercise, even dehydration. Creams can be expensive, and even worse, ineffective. Try these simple, affordable at-home remedies to fight cellulite!

Detox: Toxins are one of the biggest contributors to cellulite. Flushing those suckers out helps repair the damage and allows these other methods to work more efficiently. Infrared sauna sessions and a low-sugar juice cleanse can be a dynamic duo to jumpstart the process.

Hydration: You can’t go wrong with upping your water intake. Similar to the way it can alleviate fine lines on the face, proper hydration can reduce the signs of cellulite. See one woman’s journey and the amazing difference it made here

Nutrition: Limit salt and sugar intake. Refined salt will leach out all the healthy minerals and dehydrate the skin, which is a big contributor to cellulite. Opt for Himalayan or Celtic salt instead. Too much sugar can have a similar effect. Eat more fresh, alkalizing foods to help flush out all the toxins.

Dry Bushing: Dry brushing is an anti-cellulite trick that models swear by. Brushing in a circular motion with a natural bristle dry brush stimulates the lymphatic system, improves circulation, and allows for easier elimination of toxins. It helps break down the fat deposits and reduces the appearance of dimpled skin.

Coffee: Scrub, that is. Ingesting it can dehydrate the skin, but applying it topically does wonders. The caffeine can tone tissue and improve circulation. Rub in a circular motion and leave on the skin for 5-10 minutes before rinsing. It is a natural exfoliant that smooths the surface of the skin over time.
